About this opportunity
ABOUT THE ROLE
Factory operator at a manufacturing plant in Hungary, working on one of two areas: Turbo or Battery Thermal Management (BTM). Both are assembly and machine-tending roles on a live production line, and the employer decides which area and which shift system you are placed in.
JOB TASKS
TURBO AREA
- Assembly of turbocharger components
- Cooperation with fellow operators
- Active participation in intensive on-the-job training and skills development
- Contributing suggestions to improve the productivity of the production lines
- Full compliance with work and inspection instructions and occupational safety rules
- Carrying out and documenting in-process quality inspections
BATTERY THERMAL MANAGEMENT AREA
- Ensuring continuous material supply to the machine. The line runs continuously, so uninterrupted material feeding is the main task
- Manual correction of minor in-process product defects
- Detecting and reporting any major technical or quality issues to the responsible person
- Participation in electrostatic powder-coating processes. The chemicals used are neither harmful nor hazardous
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
These are the employer's stated requirements for this position.

- Language: intermediate English speaker and writer
- Medically fit for the job, and in particular fit for prolonged standing work. Candidates who are found medically unfit are not progressed in the selection and hiring process.
WHAT THE WORK IS PHYSICALLY LIKE
We want you to know this before you apply, not after you arrive.
- Standing work on both areas
- Turbo area: lifting turbochargers weighing 10 to 12 kg
- There are no harmful or hazardous conditions on either area
WORKING HOURS
There are three shift systems. The employer assigns which area and which shift each worker is placed in.
- BTM area: fixed 12-hour morning and night shifts. Morning 06:00 to 18:00, night 18:00 to 06:00.
- Turbo, system 1 (less shift allowance): three shifts of 8 hours. Morning 06:00 to 14:00, afternoon 14:00 to 22:00, night 22:00 to 06:00.
- Turbo, system 2 (more shift allowance): fixed 12-hour morning and night shifts, 06:00 to 18:00 and 18:00 to 06:00.
Working and rest days:
- BTM field and Turbo system 2: 3 to 4 working days, then 3 to 4 rest days. 14 to 15 working days a month.
- Turbo system 1: 5 working days, 2 days off. 21 to 22 working days a month.
The schedule can be uneven in both fields (R is a rest day, W is a workday):
- Turbo system 1: W W W R W W R or W R R W W W W
- BTM and Turbo system 2: W W R R W W R or W W W W R R R
So your rest days will not always be next to each other.
Monthly average is approximately 176 working hours without overtime, on an average working week of 48 hours.
Breaks: in Turbo system 1, one break of 20 minutes and two breaks of 10 minutes. In Turbo system 2 and in the BTM field, 60 minutes overall in smaller parts.
Overtime is possible. It stays within the statutory limits and is paid with premiums in accordance with the Hungarian labour code.
MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS REQUIRED

- Blood tests: HIV, Hepatitis B (HBsAg), Hepatitis C, VDRL (syphilis)
- Musculoskeletal examination
- Blood pressure
- Before arrival, for all women workers: pregnancy test
CONTRACT, ACCOMMODATION AND GETTING TO WORK
- Contract period: 2 years, renewable
- Accommodation: provided by the employer
- Transport: company bus, or walking if the accommodation is in the same place
- Work clothing: provided
- Flight reimbursement: no
- Wage advance: not possible. On arrival, bring at least 200 to 300 EUR with you to cover the time before your first full working month of salary.

- A coffee allowance of 3,500 HUF a month per person, usable at all vending machines in the factory for coffee, drinks, snacks, sandwiches and ready meals
COMPENSATION
Net monthly earning potential depends on the area and shift the employer assigns you to:
- BTM area, and Turbo area on the 12-hour schedule (Turbo system 2): approximately 420,000 HUF net a month at an average of 176 hours, including shift allowances. Overtime is paid on top.
- Turbo area on the 8-hour, 3-shift schedule (system 1): approximately 311,000 HUF net a month.
Bonuses: an attendance bonus of 19,950 HUF net a month, a cafeteria allowance of 32,000 HUF net a month charged to a Hungarian SZEP cafeteria card that can also be used for food in grocery shops, and a year-end EIP bonus based on performance, up to a maximum of 15% of the annual salary.
Deductions: none, except in the case of damage caused, where the amount depends on the damage.
Compensation: 311,000 - 420,000 HUF net per month (approx. 797 - 1,077 EUR)
As a new employee, in order to earn the salaries listed above, you’ll need to attend training courses to obtain certifications for operating and maintaining various machines. Only then will your employer be able to assign you to a position with better pay.
